New Flovie! Grand Master Peter strikes again! This time a new flovie (Macromedia Flash Movie that is) shakes the still waters of MAME scene! It's entitled 'MAME THE NIGHT' and you can enjoy it by clicking here. Almost December I tend to believe that November is one of the busiest months of the year. I really haven't got the time even to read an emulation news site the last few days. Thank God, everything goes back to normal from now on and what I'm gonna do is to set myself to 'Xmas mode' ;-) MAME History/MAME info .dats History.dat has been updaded once more to version 0.77c. Get it from here. Mameinfo.dat has also got another update reaching now version 0.77a. Get it from here. November 24, 2003 New CHD format progress Aaron Giles is at it again, this time trying to make a universal CHD/ISO/CD format for use with MAME: New MAME History .dat If you're from the lucky ones to have a complete 0.77 set so far, the best you can do is take this file too for use with the MAME32. History.dat has information, history elements, hints n tips and many more regarding most of MAME games. Get it from here. November 21, 2003 Knoppel v.0.3 Nick Nyktaris has released a brand new version of the KNOPPEL self bootable CD-Rom. The Greek flavor of Knoppix has finally reached version 0.3! This version adds some of the best parts of the latest international Knoppix release and (yes) it does contain the new Samba automatic configurator! Click here to read more about it and download the new version. Thanks Nick! Haze's WiP update If you thought this fellow chap is lazy, well, he's not! Grand Striker 2 is alive and kicking waiting for the next MAME release. Click here to view the screenshots. Whacker November 18, 2003 MAME v. 0.77 the biggest release ever? Since November 10, I am a happy owner of an ADSL. I have to admit though that even though the speed rates are well over 35k/s, the latest MAME release is not yet done downloading. I can say for sure that this must be the biggest (read: as huge as it gets) release ever. (Current MAME rom-dir size: over 21Gb and rising...) Outrun 2 in English plz Sega has done it again. I know that this should make my bestman Maddog smile and sleep better at nights. Outrun was his favorite game ever, so this will (hopefully) be as that. The official Sega site about this great game can now be read in English here. Whacker November 12, 2003 MAME v. 0.77 is out! From the WiP update, 3 days ago, you should be able to understand that it was gonna be a HUGE update this one. So, it's time to find out yourselves. Here's what's new in details, while you are downloading the source and binaries from here. MAME32 v. 0.77 MAME32 has had an update too, in sync with v. 0.77. You can download the source & the binary from here. Whacker November 10, 2003 MAME WiP update It's really nice to stare at pictures of games that once you thought "They will never be able to emulate this...". Well, the fellow MAME-Team members have some pretty good news for all of us. A bunch of screenshots that will probably make you wish for another source update soon... Talk is cheap, so click here to see what I'm talking about. MAME32 source update MAME32 has had an update reaching now version 0.76a. You can download the source & the binary from here Whacker November 4, 2003 MAME source update Haze has updated the source files of MAME to version 0.76u1 and 0.76u2 within the past few days. For all you compiling freaks out there, click here to get them, and... SoB crashing issues Not emulation related, but whoever uses 17orBust on a P4 may need to update his/her client due to a bug that crashes it for large exponents above 5M. Click here to be updated in a jiffy. ClrMame Pro v. 3.07c Fixing more bugs this great utility has got another update, reaching now version 3.07c. Click here to download it. Linux In A box part 3 Greek Knoppix is now distributed as an add-on to the Greek PC Magazine (November Issue). Click here to read more about installing this great Linux distribution to your HDD and learn about the upcoming version. Nick states it won't be more than 10 days long, since the new version is out and in sync with the official International release. (I'd love to see the Samba server works properly without all the hocus pocus stuff I had to get though to make it run on my LAN) ;-) Whacker |
